Experience
Tutoring is an excellent way for me to use my knowledge and expertise, as well as my gift for working with people to give back and watch the success. After graduating college in 2008 I began teaching in a Title I Middle School. I taught both English and Social Studies, and was always given the more challenging group of students who I have always been successful with. My favorite part of teaching has always been to see the light bulbs turn on, the growth of individual students, and the confidence they would gain from academic success. As a teacher I spent 7 years; two of the years spent teaching 7th graders, and five years teaching 8th graders. Shortly after my seventh year I started to feel that I was meant to do the same on a more adult level. I left teaching on my seventh year to take a job as a Business Resource Coordinator in Human Services, Social Service realm. In this position I work with clientele who are receiving benefits through the government. My goal is to get them off benefits, and become independent. Like teaching middle school students, I have the honor of getting to know many adults who just need that extra push or guidance in life. Here are some trainings I've attended: Teacher Development Trainings: Individualized Learning Plans (IEP),Writing Across the Curriculum, Literature Across the Curriculum, Teaching to English Language Learners, Technology Integration, Effective Lesson Planning, Classroom Management, and Making Connections.

Hobbies
Many of my hobbies and interest include other people in my life who I adore. I was married a year ago to the love of my life, and together we became a blended family. I'm now a mother to four beautiful children; a son who is 14, a daughter who is 12, another daughter who is 9, and our brand new addition who has just reached 4 weeks old. We enjoy camping, visiting the beach, relaxing by the fire pit in the backyard, dinner dates with friends, and exercise. I love to run! It is a way for me to free my mind and feel good. I've started to get into running races that I feel are for a good cause. I look forward to meeting many of those goals.
